 What to Prepare?

    • Please prepare 18-32 measures of a song from the show or a song similar to
      the show style. If not from the show, please bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided (No acapella or tapes/recordings.)
    • Monologue style sides will be given at auditions to review and then read after
      you sing.
    • There will be a dance audition – so please bring comfy clothes and your
      dance shoes.

 

LIST OF ROLES and AUDITION SIDES:

  • LaureyA strong-willed farm girl, questions social expectations, who is torn between her feelings for Curly and Jud.
  • Ado Annie – Vivacious, playful and open-hearted, who struggles to choose between her suitors, Will Parker and Ali Hakim.
  • CurlyA charming cowboy who is in love with Laurey and determined to win her heart
  • Will Parker – A goofily thick-headed, but good-natured cowboy, who is Ado Annie’s devoted suitor, eager to prove himself
  • Jud FryA dark, brooding farmhand who is infatuated with Laurey and represents a more menacing aspect
  • Andrew CarnesAdo Annie’s protective father and local judge
  • Aunt EllerThe wise, good-natured, and caring matriarch of the community who provides guidance and support to the younger characters
  • GertieA young woman who jumps on the opportunity to have Curly take her to the Box Social, known for her distinctive laugh
  • Ali HakimA Persian peddler, an opportunist and shrewd businessman, often caught in comedic situations involving Ado Annie.
  • Ensemble including male & female swings for leads  – In musical numbers and some scenes. 
  • Child Ensemble (ages 8 to 17) – In musical numbers and some scenes. This group will rehearse
    primarily on Sundays until Tech week when they’ll be required. (About 4-6 needed)

**Roles are open to all types, ethnicities and genders. We are unable to change pronouns due to licensing, but
we are looking for an all-inclusive cast**
