A large part of Home Made Theater’s success is due to the important work of volunteers. It takes the time, talent and energy of close to two hundred dedicated individuals to accomplish the work required to mount our productions each season. Volunteers work alongside each other and trained professionals, learning the behind the scenes aspects of theater. Whatever your availability and experience, Home Made Theater volunteers are always welcome and appreciated!

There is no experience necessary for the majority of these tasks, but if you have some experience, that’s great! Our staff and seasoned volunteers are happy to teach you anything you need to know. Many of our most skilled volunteers came to us originally with no theater experience whatsoever.

There are four general volunteer “areas:” Patron Services, Behind the Scenes, Administrative, and Creative Team*. Each is absolutely crucial to the running of Home Made Theater as a whole, and help in all areas are needed. Click on a job title in the list below to get a more detailed job description!

*Creative Team is the only area that requires prior experience.
