Sensory Friendly Performances
Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a welcoming and comfortable arts experience for autistic folks and others affected by sensory processing challenges.
Modifications include:
Lower sound level, especially for startling or loud sounds
Lights remain on at a low level in the theater during the performance
A reduction of strobe lighting and lighting focused on the audience
Guests are free to talk and leave their seats during the performance (ushers will provide guidance)
Designated quiet areas in the lobby
Staff and volunteers trained to be inviting and accommodating to families’ needs
Guests will also have access to resource materials to prepare for their visit.
